Case Study
Auto Finance Processor
A Python automation tool that classifies bank CSV transactions and uploads them into Google Sheets.
Problem
What needed to be solved
Tracking personal finances from monthly bank CSV exports can become repetitive and error-prone when transactions must be manually categorized, entered into monthly sheets, summarized, and archived.
Solution

- Applied custom categorization rules using configurable JSON settings
- Uploaded categorized transactions into month-specific Google Sheets tabs
- Prevented duplicate processing by tracking completed files
- Updated yearly summary information from spreadsheet data
- Archived processed CSV files into year-based Completed folders
- Protected local configuration and service-account credentials through ignored files
